First Call is a free, confidential, information and referral service that can get you the answers you need FAST!

First Call/211 always has a person on the phone (not a recording) waiting to speak with you right now.

First Call for help, information and referrel provides information on a local, state and federal level. Not all calls are crisis situations. We hear from all kinds of callers; children, parents, counselors and others, whose only need is a telephone number for contacting or locating services.

Free, in-person assistance is available for Minnesotans who have questions about MNsure or who need help with enrollment.

Our goal is to provide in-home, in-community crisis intervention, referral and mental health stabilization.

In 1997, after the closing of the Itasca Medical Center psychiatric unit, and the Moose Lake Regional Treatment Center in 1994, a group of mental health care providers, medical care providers and social/human service employees collaborated to formulate a plan to meet the mental health needs of individuals in Itasca County.
